Tomasz Piasecki

Dr Tomasz Piasecki graduated from veterinary medicine at the University of Agriculture in Wroclaw. After studies he started his PhD studies in the Department of Epizootiology and Veterinary Administration at the same university. In 2004 he obtained the title of PhD in veterinary sciences. Soon after that he began to work as an adjunct in the Department of Epizootiology and Clinic of Birds and Exotic Animals in The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences. Dr Tomasz Piasecki is a specialist in the field of fur animals medicine, poultry diseases, exotic birds and wildlife animals diseases. As an university teacher he’s head of courses: „Breeding of exotic animals”, „Exotic animals diseases” and „Fur animals diseases”. He is also a lecturer at specialisation studies and many veterinary conferences. His scientific interests involve diagnostics and pathology. He is also interested in exotic and wildlife animals treatment. Futhermore Dr is monitoring bacterial and viral infections of exotic animals occurring in Poland. His greatest scientic success was the discovery of new parrot virus - Avihepadnavirus (named by him as Parrot Hepatitis B Virus (PHBV)) in 2011.
